Marionette Clips

A number of video clips with descriptions can be found here. All clips require Quick Time.
Don't bother raising the volume, as none of the video clips have sound.

The Black Cat and How He Moves
The same black cat is shown bounding with joy in the grass. It stops to eat and then continues playing. Later in the clip, the trick behind the movements is shown with a close-up of the controller and the hand behind the action. There are two main movements. The first shown (bouncing/seesaw) is used to make the cat run or bound, as well as eat. The second movement (rolling) is used to make the cat, and all of our marionettes, walk.

The Black Cat on a Rock
A cat (on all fours) walks on a flat rock. This clips shows basic movements of the pom-pom marionettes that are on all fours.

The Spotted Dog Takes a Walk
The spotted dog is one of our many marionettes on two legs. This clip shows many of the common movements the standing pom-pom marionettes can do. In this clip, the dog dances, walks around, jumps, throws a fit, and excercises before leaving the scene.

Boxing: Spotted Dog vs. Striped Tiger
After hearing rumors that Striped Tiger had been hunting deer, Spotted Dog decides to take on Striped Tiger. Who will be the victor? Watch and see!
The movement used for boxing is the same as for walking and dancing, only the puppet is slightly lowered to keep the feet on the ground.
Warning: Although boxing among puppets is accepted, wrestling is not! Neither is flipping. Too many strings would get tangled.

Spotted Dog and Stipped Tiger Get Down
Striped Tiger and Spotted Dog really are friends most of the time. After watching the two dance in the field, watch how the puppeteer moves the control bar so you can do the same.

T-Rex in Blue
A rare scene of a T-Rex in action. Look here to see him taking a brief walk around and eating some very hard to see flies.
At the end of this clip is a scene showing how to hold and move the control bar.

Cheetah
Miss. Cheetah has nothing to do. She just keeps pacing around. Sometimes she takes a nap. Thinking she hears something, Miss. Cheetah wakes up and takes a look around. It was nothing, but she wants to pounce now anyways. Ahh! not on me! Whew! looks like I wasn't yummy enough. After practicing her pounce, she finds something good to munch on. Off she goes after her meal.

One Wish
A purple unicorn is spotted in the open by Stripped Tiger. Tiger tries to hide wondering what to do. Realizing he can get a wish if he can only get near enough to the unicorn, he decides to walk on over. After a little conversation and the waving of a horn, Tiger gets his wish: to bounce like Tigger! A few bounces later, Tiger talks to the unicorn again. He needs to get out of here in a hurry. Unicorn agrees to give him a ride if he can hang on. Tiger's a bit heavy, but after some effort, the unicorn manages to take to the air. Have you ever seen a tiger riding a unicorn? Well there's an interesting sight!

The Ugly Duckling Takes a Walk
Having no friends, the Ugly Duckling is off on his own again. He has found a nice plot of grass and is taking the time to eat only the most delicious blades of grass.
