Cleaning Your Marionette

Hand Washable

"Who's been jumping in the mud? Was it you, little marionette?" Everything is a-okay because all the marionettes are hand or surface washable.

sinkFirst, a note. Please reserve washing for when it is most necessary. Parts which are glued onto the wood may come apart, so understand that gluing may be necessary after washing. Elmer’s glue, wood glue, or hot glue will generally work fine.

During washing: Keep the control bar out of the water if possible. Just leave it hanging over the sink's edge.

Pom-poms: Hand-wash in the sink, using a mild detergent. Hang or blow dry.

Soaking for more than five to ten minutes is not recommended because of the wood contained within the structure of the marionettes.

Plush Animal Marionettes: Surface-wash with soap and a mild detergent. If more washing is required, then be sure to blow-dry or hang in the sun on a hot sunny day after washing.

Wooden Marionettes: Surface-wash only. Use a sponge and a mild detergent as necessary on the clothes, hands, and feet.
Please be careful if washing the marionette’s face, shoes, or painted hands. Only work on one part (color) at a time. Do not wipe the face, as the paint may smear.
